If you have a site then I am sure you know about the struggle with having images for your site. Do you use pictures that you yourself take so you know that there is no copywrite problems at all… but then you have to take the picture and then edit/clean it up yourself. Or do you buy stock photos or find images online somehow… then you have to be careful that you follow the copywrite for those images so that you don’t leave yourself open for problems from the owner of the image. Its a hard tightrope to walk getting the images and using them properly. So what is a person to do?
First off be careful, if you use an image that you did not take yourself make sure that you credit the source the proper way. Take the time now, not when the owner comes after you.. trust me you don’t want that to happen to you. For stock photos I recommend using Dollar Photo Club where its a $10 monthly fee for 10 photos a month, or $99 for a year with 99 photos. Additional photos are only $1 a piece.
If you take the image yourself then these are the tools I recommend you use to clean the picture up and to add text or anything that you want. The paid program I recommend is Photoshop, this is a very powerful tool and will take some time to learn how to use properly but it is my go to when I want to create graphics for my site or to clean up pictures.
For a quick image I use picmonkey, it is so easy to use and so quick. There are a lot of options that you can use, the only draw back for picmonkey is the inability to alter your image after you save it and close it down. That is a benefit that Photoshop has but you do pay for it. Picmonkey has a free version and a paid Royal version which gives you more fonts, overlays and other options. The monthly fee is $4.99 and for a year it is $33. So the price is really not that bad, and picmonkey is quite a powerful and helpful tool to use.
